Judge Refuses to Postpone Tax Evasion Trial

AP

The judge in the Wesley Snipes trial has refused to postpone the actor's tax evasion charges. His new attorneys asked the judge for more time, because they were new and needed time to prepare for trial. Hey that's what you went to law school for, to be prepared at all times and sleep, eat, and drink case studies. In October 2006, a federal indictment charges Snipes with fraudulently claiming refunds totaling nearly $12 million in 1996 and 1997 for income taxes already paid. Blade has really turned out to be a dead-beat father and a cheater!
Update: The judge has decided to postpone the trial, because Snipes fired his whole legal team. Wow, that's a way to get what you want!

Bob Barker and CBS Getting Sued Again!

Bob " come on down" Barker is being sued by longtime employee Deborah Curling, she accuses Barker of repeated "racial discrimination, sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment." The former CBS prize administrator claims she was targeted for harassment and felt "physically threatened" at work after she testified in a wrongful termination lawsuit against the network. Curling, who is black, also contends that African-American audience members were repeatedly discriminated against in the process of selecting contestants.

Wow this man has been sued more times than Michael Jackson, did he leave the show to go tan in the sun or was it an attempt to flee the scene of the crime. One thing I can't stand is a perv and just because you're rolling in the dough doesn't mean you have to take advantage of these women, no matter what color they are. I mean an African-American woman, I can definitely sympathize with the contestants, but this is a sexist issue that needs to be rectified immediately! So Bob come on down and meet the judge, AGAIN!

President Bush Vetoes SCHIP

10/3/07
Washington- President Bush, in a sharp confrontation with Congress, today vetoed a bipartisan bill that would have dramatically expanded children's health insurance. It was only the fourth veto of Bush's presidency, and one that some Republicans feared could carry steep risks for their party in next year's elections. The Senate approved the bill with enough votes to override the veto, but the margin in the House fell short of the required number.

Democrats unleashed a stream of harsh rhetoric, as they geared up for a battle to both improve their chances of winning a veto override and score political points against Republicans who oppose the expansion.

I'm very disappointed with Bush, but not surprised. The S-CHIP plan that seeks to help millions of children with their health care needs and heartless Bush denies them! I mean think about it, do we really want a bunch of sick children in this country. I understand that billions have been given to the program over the last five years, but this bi-partisan bill was to cover more than 10 million of our little ones in the United States. These are parents that have decent paying jobs who don't qualify for Medicaid. I could see if we were talking about lazy no good parents that are taking care of their children by using the government. It kills me how we'll support and pacify millions of people on welfare, but won't help many who are just trying to make ends meet. The cost of living is higher, the gas prices have gone up, even food is more expensive. When are we going to stop being so ignorant, these children are innocent human beings that deserve to be treated equally. We're still in Iraq fighting a war that shouldn't have happened at all. A new report just came out about Federal employees in Washington that have spent more than $146 million just on outside luxuries, such as travel and other big perks, but Bush can't help innocent children. It's just absolutely absurd and ridiculous that this man doesn't have the capacity to do good. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a child advocate, but a single mother that works hard for the money everyday and even I struggle. Fortunately for me, my employers give excellent benefits and that's the upside of working at a medical school. The children of this country are the future, these are the individuals that will pay taxes when they get older and fund our Social Security! It's really great to see all parties come together on this, not all Republicans agree, but there's a general consensus that they want some kind of health care for these children. This crosses all color lines and it's more of a socioeconomic issue than anything. I hope that Congress can bring forth a revised resolution that President Bush will adhere too!

Update: Bush is willing to spend more on the program, although he hasn't specified how much of an increase in funds there will be. That a boy! He probably felt the heat from both parties, because this veto had some serious consequences for the Republican party in next year's election.

No Vacation for Congress

President Bush will not let the esteemeed members of Congress go on vacation until the Anti-Terror bill is drafted and signed. He wants this bill done now in order to allow our government to eavesdrop on foreigners. “So far the Democrats in Congress have not drafted a bill I can sign,” Bush said at FBI headquarters, where he was meeting with counter-terror and homeland security officials. “We’ve worked hard and in good faith with the Democrats to find a solution, but we are not going to put our national security at risk. Time is short.” According to memebers of Congress, there is no deal right now on this bill and in a statement given today, “It’s up in the air; I think we’re going to be here for a while,” Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said upon emerging from a closed-door meeting of Senate Democrats on the issue. No fun in the sun for these poor people. LMAO!!

Abusing the Adopted

I am so totally outraged with this story that it has simply brought me to tears. Being someone who is adopted, I found this story to be the most horrific and scary. In West Palm Beach, FL, a 62 year old woman is being charged with abuse, Judith Leekin is accused of fraudulently adopting and mistreating 11 New York children in order to bilk a child welfare agency out of $2 million. I will stop here for a second, first of all why did this happen between 1993-1996, and here we are in 2007 and we are just handling this. Apparently she was been able to manipulate her identity, by using various aliases, to keep adopting these people. People who adopt special needs children in New York City can get as much as $55 a day until the child turns 21. These children were handcuffed and not allowed to go to the bathroom, were not fed, and couldn't go to school. How could a person do this to other human beings? How could this woman get away with this for so long? Did she not have friends or relatives that would come by and see this happening? What did her neighbors have to say? I am sorry but I am so fired up about this story because I was so blessed to be adopted by the best parents in the world. Adoption agencies are supposed to protect children, not freely give them away to animals. I am going to pray that these people will get the best care possible. Hopefully our government will impose stronger laws on these type of matters. I hope this woman experiences the fullest extent of the law and gets the maximum punishment for her crimes. (ALL 11 of the charges!!!!)
