17 Children... Wants More?

Little Rock, Arkansas welcomes their newest addition to the census; Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar welcomed their 17th child, and seventh daughter, into the world Thursday. Jennifer Danielle was born at 10:01 a.m. at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Ark., the Duggars said in an interview. Jennifer weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces and arrived five days after Michelle's due date. I am astonished that this woman is still having children at age 40 and furthermore that she claims to "want more." Jennifer joins siblings Joshua, 19; John David, 17; Janna, 17; Jill, 16; Jessa, 14; Jinger, 13; Joseph, 12; Josiah, 11; Joy-Anna, 9; Jedidiah, 8; Jeremiah, 8; Jason 7; James 6; Justin, 4; Jackson, 3; Johannah, almost 2. The family includes two sets of twins. Are they going for the Guinness Book of World Records, who holds the honor for most children anyway? The Duggar family has been on many Discovery channel shows and is due to have another "family album" special coming out very soon. Good luck Duggar family.

Hamlet in the Hood

Who says there can't be Shakespere in the hood? Great job shout-out goes out to Craig Bazan in Camden, NJ!

It brings me great joy when someone goes outside of the box. Why is there a box to begin with? People thought that Tupac was just some thug from Baltimore, but he was a literary genius. Unfortunately, the streets claimed Pac and he never regained his power.

Minnesota News

Updates:
I expected these findings to come to light, just like I said in the previous post. Minnesota officials were warned as early as 1990 that the bridge that plummeted into the Mississippi River was "structurally deficient," yet they relied on a strategy of patchwork fixes and stepped-up inspections. Minnesota be prepared to open your checkbooks!

The Minnesota Timberwolves had to delay their press conference to introduce four new players, due to the collapsed bridge. Minnesota is on the map for all kinds of things now, basketball and tragedy is definitely not a good mix.

Kevin Garnett threw the first pitch at the Boston Red Sox game. He looked like a kid that just woke up to open his Christmas presents! I'm glad you're happy " Big Ticket", but you better come with it 07-08 season.

Please Don't TomKat, I Beg You!

Does this picture make you want to scream? Well if so, hold that thought because this will be even more nauseating! According to a friend of the couple, Tom and Katie want to pose in the buff like their good pals Posh and David! I mean seriously who wants to see Tom Cruise even remotely naked, no one in their right mind would want to witness that. Tom, just because you married a woman that could be your daughter, doesn't mean you have to relive your days of Risky Business! I hope this story doesn't come to forition and it's all a bunch of crap. I've never wanted something so badly not to come true. Tom really needs to leave his hair alone, that cut is not cute and why must Katie continue to attain Jackie O status. She couldn't embody Mrs. Onasis even if she tried, so just stop!!!

Vanity Fair's Next Hollywood Generation

Vanity Fair has unleashed it's top 11 in Hollywood and I think they missed a few, but for the most part VF is on point. Of course, Shia is on top cause he's a really good actor and kind of has that " it" factor. I'm not going to post anymore about Shia today, I know it could get to be a little to much and this is not a fan site!

Indiana Jones 4 Coming May 08!

Old vs New, I'll take the classic any day! I know the younger generations would prefer for Mr. Shia, but Hans Solo is still the man. I've said this before, I'm an eighties kid! These are pics from the set of Indiana Jones 4 coming out next summer. The summer 07 releases weren't that good, except for Spider-man 3. Hopefully, next summer will be a blast and spending $ 9 bucks on a movie will be well worth it.

It's Never to Late!

I am so inspired by this lady, as a single mother and an advocate for the importance of education, this granny let's me know there's hope. It doesn't matter how old you are, if the drive and determination is there, the possibilities are endless. She started her post-graduate program when she was 90 yrs old and at the age of 94 she is the oldest master in the world! Boys and girls hold steadfast and be patient and when the time is right, cane and all you could be just like her.

" She Wants It"

Wow, I would have never expected this collabo, but then again nothing surprises me anymore. I really love Justin and the old 50 cent was the bomb, but I'm really not a fan of this track, you already know who's the producer. The name of the song is "She Wants It", which is about the things that modern men have to deal with in their personal lives, such as Internet dating! Please come up with something a little more clever. 50 cent said that he would never do the JaRule move and use the R&B melodies, but I guess he learned that whatever makes you the most money, you better work it! Good Luck on the single guys, I'm sure it will be a hit on MTV and BET.

Fisher-Price Recalls 1 Million Toys!

I know there is a lot of parents reading this blog, at least that's what I assume. Please pay attention to the Fisher-Price Recall Toy List. The company has recalled one million toys, including the Dora, Elmo, and Nickelodeon toys. Dora is very popular amongst kids and you have to take action, these toys contain an excessive amount of lead. My thing is, how can you not have a strict quality assurance policy when the items use paint, spot checking isn't good enough!
Please read the following:
In the last two years, the staff of the consumer product commission has been cut by more than 10 percent, leaving fewer regulators to monitor the safety of the growing flood of imports. Some consumer advocates say that such staff cuts under the Bush administration have made the commission a lax regulator. The commission, for example, acknowledged in a recent budget document that “because of resource limitations,” it was planning next year to curtail its efforts aimed at preventing children from drowning in swimming pools and bathtubs. The toy industry in the United States is largely self-policed. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has safety standards, but it has only about 100 field investigators and compliance personnel nationwide to conduct inspections at ports, warehouses and stores of $22 billion worth of toys and tens of billions of dollars’ worth of other consumer products sold in the country each year. “They don’t have the staff that they need to try to get ahead of this problem,” said Janell Mayo Duncan, senior counsel at the Consumers Union, which publishes Consumer Reports. “They need more money and resources to do more checks.”
However, you will be allowed to exchange the item and receive a voucher for equal value of the toy. It's not time to be lenient parents because your son or daughter loves Elmo and Dora, their health is more important! Please don't be naive to think that the toy you purchased isn't affected, be cautious and follow instructions. I'm just being a concerned parent not a principal on ethics.

Bridge Collapses in the Mississippi River!

This is an absolute tragedy, a bridge collapsed in the Mississippi River during bumper-to-bumper traffic Wednesday, killing at least six people and sending vehicles, tons of concrete and twisted metal crashing into the water. If you look closely at the pictures, the bridge was being repaired at the time of the collapse. It's very important that these cities maintain the infrastructure, because this similar occurrence can happen at any given time. I'm expecting lawsuits out the you know what! My main question is, how long has the city known about the bridge's condition? I send my condolences and prayers to the families of the deceased.
