The winter is looking pretty good for the MLB! The first blockbuster deal has been made and my favs Dontrell Willis and Miguel Cabrera are heading to the Detroit Tigers. In 2003, when Miguel was a youngster in the league, he won a World Series and now with the addition of the left-handed pitcher and slugger the Tigers are seeking the same success. The A-Rod deal, which I find preposterous is setting expectations very high for the MVP. The Yankees seem to think that with the new Yankee stadium revenues will make up for the big contract and that might be true, but will Alex fail in the post-season like he's done for the last two years. Until he can prove he's worthy of such a lucrative deal, I can't support the Yankees decision. Detroit Tigers will definitely be in the post-season next season and look for the Red Sox to be right with them. I can only hope that AT&T Uverse will offer the League pass. I put a call in to the company yesterday to demand the League passes be added and the rep was like, " ma'am we're working to make that happen, you aren't the only way that is frustrated with the lack of sports services!" I'm already excited about the '08 season! I'm just waiting on the Astros to make some kind of smart move, I can't be flying off to another city just to watch baseball.

Federal Grand Jury Indicts Barry Bonds
Barry "big head" Bonds was indicted today on perjury and obstruction of justice charges! The charges have been long overdue in my opinion. Why did it take four years of tax payers money to bring Bonds down? I have an opinion, lets make all the dinero we can and then once the record is broken, we can string his butt up and hang him! Hey, honesty is the best key. I know that being arrogant and dominant can get you far in life sometimes, but he was just plain stupid!! Giambi talked like a crazy teen on a cell phone. Bonds was offered immunity during his testimony in the BALCO case, if he didn't commit perjury. It's amazing how powerful people feel invincible or untouchable. For example, Clinton never had sexual relations with Monica and Pete Rose never bet on baseball. I think once the evidence is presented, Barry will sit in jail for years or sing like a bird to be free. Remember Barry, " there's no crying in baseball!"

Pedroia and Ellsbury are the Stars of the World Series!
Oh wow, it seems like forever since I've blogged. It has been a crazy and busy week, so I had to wait until things settled down. Anyway, lets get down to baseball shall we! Boston Red Sox as you all know is my favorite team, so I am very excited to see them beating up on the Rockies. You guys may or may not remember the butt whooping they gave to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2004, well it looks like Colorado better start packing up and go on a long vacation. The rookies Pedroia and Ellsbury have been the stars of the World Series, with batting averages of .357 and .417 respectively. Ellsbury in game 3 last night had two doubles and the 3rd inning looked like a clinic by the away team. Ortiz even with a bum knee was able to come up with a huge RBI in the 3rd after striking out in the 1st inning. So it seems that my fav team is running on all cylinders and Terry Francona is pulling out all strategies to ensure a victory in Colorado. Game 4 tonight is do or die time for the Rockies!

The Red Sox are Heading to the Big Dance!
I couldn't even close my eyes tonight without hearing the cheers from the sell-out crowd at Fenway Park. The atmosphere was electric and I so wanted to be apart of it. I had to watch my Texans fall today to the Titans. The Texans were down 32-7 after 3 quarters and then Rosenfel orchestrated one of the greatest come-backs I've ever seen.
So I was very sad, but anxious for some renewed excitement. My Boston cap was on turned to the back and a Fanta soda was by my side. I was focused and ready, hands were clammy, face was turning red, stomach started hurting! This is the feeling of a dedicated Boston fan people, it's all a process! Anyway, so the Red Sox held on to a 1 pt lead going into the 7th.
At times during the inning I felt like I was watching a little league game, the errors and base-running was horrible! The Sox still stayed focused and tore it up in the 8th inning against Betancourt. Pedroia and Yooouki were on fire! The made-men weren't so fortunate this game, but Manny deserved a break. He has been the fuel that has ran the ship. Big Papi's knees have really messed up his swing and he's not the confident slugger that everyone is use to. Bean-town was wide awake after CoCo Crisp caught the ball in the outfield to end the game. He banged his knee into the green wall, but was able to hobble his way to meet the team.
So there it is ladies and gents, my take on the game and the emotions that come with it. So the same process will occur on Wed when the World Series kicks off. The Rockies beat the Red Sox 2 out of 3 games in the regular season. What the hell does that mean to me, NOTHING!

Boston is Having the Best Week Ever!

Patriots made a believer out of everybody, they routed the Cowboys on Sunday 48-27 and the Red Sox and Indians are tied in the ALCS. Manny was definitely being Manny in the first two games and it seemed like the Indians had almost given up, but in Game 2 Trot Nixon started a rally and the other players followed. The Indians put up 7 runs in the 11th to top the BoSox. Manny has been batting .500 and that's mainly on 0-2 counts. Big Papi has been hustling even on a bum knee, he's been laying it all out on the field. They shall meet again on Monday in Cleveland. I hope those damn bugs aren't flying around like they did in the Yankees series! I mean that was funny, seeing A-Rod slap bugs off his pretty face, but this is my team, so no distractions please! Boston is on it's way to having the best year ever, if the Sox can stay focused and put the Indians away. Patriots have the chance to clinch a playoff spot by Thanksgiving, how crazy is that! Lets go Red Sox and keep it moving Pats!

Lets Go Red Sox!!

My dreams of another ALCS showdown between the Yanks and BoSox may come true, but they will both have to get through some really hard nose ball clubs if they want to get there! The Yanks will take on the Indians in what most critics are calling the most important series for A-Rod who is the home-run king, but in the playoffs he's never been able to step-up for the big plays. Actually, he's done nothing in the last couple of playoffs, his batting average has been .333! Sabathia will be pitching the first game against the Yanks and Beckett will be pitching for the Red Sox in Game 1. So may the best pitcher win and A-rod goes 1 for 16. I'm so glad it's October, Big Papi and Manny time!

756 News and More!
Lisa Blumenfeld/Getty ImagesI wasn't going to comment on 756, because it really gets under my skin. The league doesn't want to get thrown under the bus and so the obvious person that can take the heat is Barry. Let's say Barry, Sosa, Mcgwire, Giambi and many others all did steroids and some have admitted to using it, why aren't the other players as good as Barry, because Bonds was always the better player! Is Steroids wrong? If Barry wasn't close to Hank, would we be tripping? The answer is yes, Steroids shouldn't be in any sport, but it is and no, we wouldn't care less about Bonds if he wasn't close to the record. He would've been alongside Sheffield, Giambi, and others that admitted to taking the substance. So, what happened yesterday was freaking awesome and you can't deny the man his greatness, because his talent outweighs the Steroid use and before you go passing judgement, read the following articles on your favorite players and tell me what you think!!! It's easy to form an opinion when you don't have all the information. Please don't be naive to think that the Grand jury extension didn't have anything to do with 756, they have to make their millions first and then get back to work! Congrats Barry and hopefully you can come back next season and extend the homers. How ironic it is that the pitcher who gave up number 755 tested positive for Steroids in the minors back in 2005!

755!!!
Barry Bonds made history on Saturday when he tied the all-time home-run record held by Hank Aaron! I was so elated when the crowd stood up in complete aw of what they just witnessed. It was a historic moment and although there were a few boos, it was over powered by the screams, cheers, and the sound of thousands of cameras. He was met at home plate by his 16 yr old son, Nikolai. This weekend has truly been monumental. I love the game of baseball even with all it's scrutiny, it's still one of the best sports in the world. The strategic and focused play that's necessary to succeed is the appeal for me. So congrats Barry and I'll be waiting to see 756 tomorrow! I'm sure 755 will be on EBAY come Monday.

A-Rod Hits 500!!
I would have made the image bigger, but I'm really not an A-Rod fan! In this case, my opinion of the guy doesn't matter, the guy can play ball and there's no denying him that. He will pass Bonds by at least 100 or more homers. He hit the first pitch that came his way and just blasted it into the outfield! I think we all know what the debate will be about on sports radio, is he juicing? Steroids and other performance enhancing drugs have been around for years, we will never know the answer until a player tests positive. I understand the disregard for Bonds record breaker, but you still have to give it up to him!!

Bonds Is One Away
Congrats goes out to Barry Bonds, he had a solo shot pass the 404 ft line in AT&T ballpark yesterday! His homer came in the first inning against pitcher, Rick Vanden Hurk. Bonds looked a 2-1 fastball right in between the eyes and powered it right past the pitchers and the players as they watched in a amazement. Yea, he's one away from Hank and I really want people to respect that. Barry was a sure Hall of Famer even before the allegations, so give him his due diligence.

Boston Finally Snaps Losing Streak!
You guys know I love my Red Sox and they are back on track! Boston (57-39) played the White Sox, to whom they lost against on the previous night came back with a vengeance. Crisp had a triple the fifth with a line-drive. Lugo had a Grand Slam while Drew had two doubles. The Red Sox were on a three game losing streak until last night and trying to keep at least trying to keep nine games ahead of the Yankees, in my opinion they need to be 15 or more ahead. You can never underestimate the Yanks, A-Rod anyone?

Bonds 2 Away!
Barry had an awesome game on Thursday and I believe he will surpass Aaron's record before the weekend ends. The manner in which he did it was the cool part, he rested for a few days and then one pitch he hits a 3-run homer! Are you kidding me! You can say whatever, but this guy is a hall of famer. The media doesn't even refer to the team as the Giants, it's Bonds lost today or Bonds had a great game. The magnitude in which the press go out of their way to taint Bonds simply amazes me! I'll say this again, if you have your proof then suspend him, otherwise just stop with the ridicule! Congratulations Bonds and I'll be checking you out on my MLB League Pass.

Freedom of Speech?
I haven't posted any MLB stories for a minute, so I guess now is a good time!! Gary, Gary, Gary, why do you put yourself in these situations. I could see if it was the end of the season and you needed to get some harsh feelings off your chest, but to call out Torre and others is ridiculous! Your team is making a push to the top and you are jeopardizing that by spewing off at the mouth. The guys on your team are professionals, so I'm sure this will not affect them in any way, but it just distracts fans from what you guys are trying to accomplish. I think everyone knows that baseball tends to be a little divided, just like every other sport. I wasn't in the dugout, so I don't know how black and non-black players were treated, but if you felt that way, why stay with organization for so long. Why didn't you take your concerns to the commish? I'll come back to this story later, maybe one of my boys can pick it up.....I'm getting more and more irritated as I type.

MLB Updates

Giants 7
Poor Rocket, you know the Yanks are desperate when he's coming out of the bullpen!
The marquee matchup went to Josh Beckett and the Boston Red Sox. Beckett became baseball's first 11-game winner and the Red Sox worked over Jake Peavy victory over the San Diego Padres on Sunday in a matchup of two of the game's top pitchers.
Padres 2
Red Sox 4
Yes, give it up for the grinders! My BoSox are back on a roll and the Yanks are slipping once again.
