Finally, the rain has ceased at The All England Club. Venus Williams beat 2004 U.S. Open champ Kutznesova in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. She will face French Open finalist Ana Ivanovic. Poor sis Serena couldn't get pass Henin and withdrew from doubles. I admire Serena for her will and determination, but there comes a time when you should bow out gracefully. Hopefully, you will have a speedy recovery and will see you at full strength for the slam, U.S. Open.
Also, my boy Nadal rallied back from a two set deficit and game back to win 3 straight sets pretty easily. I really like this guy, his game is really improving on grass. Now, he just has to beat Federer on this surface and he'll be a bonafide superstar. Andy Roddick is also showing some major improvements with the addition of his coach, Jimmy Connors. He's starting to make more wise decisions and doesn't rely so much on his big serve, because that could only take him so far. He's coming to the net and his volleys have really improved. He is the only great hope for the American side. Wimbledon is shaping up to be pretty good, if only the dry weather could be consistent and build a damn roof already!!
