Federal Grand Jury Indicts Barry Bonds

REUTERS/Kimberly White/Files (UNITED STATES)

Barry "big head" Bonds was indicted today on perjury and obstruction of justice charges! The charges have been long overdue in my opinion. Why did it take four years of tax payers money to bring Bonds down? I have an opinion, lets make all the dinero we can and then once the record is broken, we can string his butt up and hang him! Hey, honesty is the best key. I know that being arrogant and dominant can get you far in life sometimes, but he was just plain stupid!! Giambi talked like a crazy teen on a cell phone. Bonds was offered immunity during his testimony in the BALCO case, if he didn't commit perjury. It's amazing how powerful people feel invincible or untouchable. For example, Clinton never had sexual relations with Monica and Pete Rose never bet on baseball. I think once the evidence is presented, Barry will sit in jail for years or sing like a bird to be free. Remember Barry, " there's no crying in baseball!"

The Biggest Steroid Bust in the Nations's History!

AP Photo
Federal authorities announced the largest crackdown on illegal steroids in the nation's history Monday, arresting more than 120 people and raiding dozens of labs that manufactured growth hormone for sale on the black market. Agents seized 56 labs, many of which were located in dirty basements, and recovered 11.4 million doses of steroids, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration. The announcement follows a growing number of scandals in the sports world over steroids, but authorities said the probe was focused on distributors, not users, and that no professional athletes were directly involved in the investigation.

Do you really believe this story had nothing to do with sports? If you do then, you're a little naive. Steroids has never been a focal point of the Drug Enforcement Administration until all the scandals in MLB. I mean don't get me wrong, a lot of investigative and sting operations are definitely under wraps, but I think the BALCO case really made agents realize that it's a really big business and there just might be something going on. I firmly believe that some players in the sports arena are definitely sweating right now. I just can't see this story not involving other players and more documents that have proof of illegal steroid use. I'm sure the commissioner of Major League Baseball is looking for a round table discussion as we speak!

Are You Ready for Some Football?

The NFL season starts tonight with the Colts and Saints, but the talk hasn't been about the opener, but the revelations that Harrison and Wade Williams, the QB coach for the Cowboys are involved in a probe, much like the BALCO case. Mr. Wilson's suspension came a day after New England safety Rodney Harrison was suspended for the first four games of the season without pay. The moves stem from an investigation by the Albany, N.Y., district attorney's office into an alleged Internet scam involving an Orlando, Fla., pharmacy. The probe centers on performance-enhancing drugs, such as anabolic steroids and human growth hormone, and professional athletes. I'm telling you it's only going to get worse, no league is safe now! Do you think the general public will care about this investigation just like steroids in baseball? I don't think so, because football is a contact sport and what people enjoy the most is watching these big, strong, athletic guys tackling and running for touchdowns. So in my opinion the impact will be very little and that's kind of sad the double-standard that exists, but it's America for goodness sake! The New England Patriots are my favorite team and I really hope that this doesn't affect the chemistry that exists in the locker room and on the field. Harrison has been such a major part of the Patriots success, remember the Eagles vs. Patriots a few years ago?

Sports Round-Up

Hey Peeps, again M.I.A. pretty much all ayer! I enjoyed my Friday so much and by the end of the day that full belly and joy turned into sleepy and peaceful! So I figured one post for a few things would save a little front page space.

George Mitchell, the investigator for the Steroids madness has been diagnosed with low-grade Prostate cancer. The cancer is small and localized and can be treated and cured his doctor said. Mitchell has made it very clear that his health issues will not affect the probe in baseball's most popular subject! He should be releasing a report in few months, by then Barry should reach at least 770 home-runs.

Tiger Woods tied major record with 63 yesterday at the PGA Championship in Tulsa, Ok. I thought our weather was scorching, but in Tulsa it was like 104 degrees. Tiger had 8 birdies and 1 bogey, keep in mind that Woods was 7 shots behind on Thursday. Could this be number 13?

What is up with all these old-school NBA players that want to come back? It seems that Reggie Miller has inspired them all! Allan Houston from the New York Knicks has definite plans on returning to the courts. He's been an ESPN analyst for the past two seasons, hmm where can he go? Now on to Mr. Miller, Boston Celtics is really trying to lay down the red carpet for the three-point expert to un-retire and join Garnett, Pierce, Allen to become a real Eastern Conference contender. I'm not so sure about this one, I mean Jordan did it, but he's Jordan! Can Reggie make the giant leap forward and land in Beantown? Penny, Penny has signed with the Miami Heat to reunite with his buddy, the " Big Aristotle". I'm really a little reluctant about this one. We haven't gotten any opportunity to watch Penny shoot, I guess the Heat have seen him do his thing behind the practice doors. I'm really looking forward to this NBA season, I shall renew my league pass immediately!!

Well Peeps, that was the Sports Round-Up, on to celeb news...

756 News and More!

Lisa Blumenfeld/Getty Images
Meet Matt Murphy, a 21 yr. old college student who had a layover in San Francisco before heading to Australia to visit a good pal. He was at the right place, at the right time and had a bloodied face to go with it. He said, " I won the lottery". Yes you did Matt, but you're now in the well-to-do tax bracket and therefore, 35 percent will immediately go to Uncle Sam! Matt said that whatever he gets from selling or auctioning the ball, he would give half to his pal that accompanied him to the ballpark.

I wasn't going to comment on 756, because it really gets under my skin. The league doesn't want to get thrown under the bus and so the obvious person that can take the heat is Barry. Let's say Barry, Sosa, Mcgwire, Giambi and many others all did steroids and some have admitted to using it, why aren't the other players as good as Barry, because Bonds was always the better player! Is Steroids wrong? If Barry wasn't close to Hank, would we be tripping? The answer is yes, Steroids shouldn't be in any sport, but it is and no, we wouldn't care less about Bonds if he wasn't close to the record. He would've been alongside Sheffield, Giambi, and others that admitted to taking the substance. So, what happened yesterday was freaking awesome and you can't deny the man his greatness, because his talent outweighs the Steroid use and before you go passing judgement, read the following articles on your favorite players and tell me what you think!!! It's easy to form an opinion when you don't have all the information. Please don't be naive to think that the Grand jury extension didn't have anything to do with 756, they have to make their millions first and then get back to work! Congrats Barry and hopefully you can come back next season and extend the homers. How ironic it is that the pitcher who gave up number 755 tested positive for Steroids in the minors back in 2005!
Note: There is no testing for human growth hormone, though it does appear on major league baseball's list of banned substances.

Bonds Is One Away

Congrats goes out to Barry Bonds, he had a solo shot pass the 404 ft line in AT&T ballpark yesterday! His homer came in the first inning against pitcher, Rick Vanden Hurk. Bonds looked a 2-1 fastball right in between the eyes and powered it right past the pitchers and the players as they watched in a amazement. Yea, he's one away from Hank and I really want people to respect that. Barry was a sure Hall of Famer even before the allegations, so give him his due diligence.

Bonds 2 Away!

Barry had an awesome game on Thursday and I believe he will surpass Aaron's record before the weekend ends. The manner in which he did it was the cool part, he rested for a few days and then one pitch he hits a 3-run homer! Are you kidding me! You can say whatever, but this guy is a hall of famer. The media doesn't even refer to the team as the Giants, it's Bonds lost today or Bonds had a great game. The magnitude in which the press go out of their way to taint Bonds simply amazes me! I'll say this again, if you have your proof then suspend him, otherwise just stop with the ridicule! Congratulations Bonds and I'll be checking you out on my MLB League Pass.

What's the Next Move?

The toxicology reports aren't even out, but it's pretty clear that this guy had to much in his system. Dr. Phil Astin prescribed a 10-month supply of anabolic steroids to Chris Benoit every three to four weeks between May 2006 and May 2007. Athletes of every sport have been doing steroids and other substances for years, but it's no longer a little secret! It's not just Bonds, Giambi, and others. Now, it's a widespread epidemic in the sports arena that needs to be handled or we're going to have a lot of stories like this in the future.
