Pakistan's Former Prime Minister is Assassinated!

(AP Photo/B.K.Bangash)

I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas and most definitely a Happy New Year. I have a feeling '08 will be filled with controversies, re-counts, and other crimes that have plagued our celebs and politicians! It means that I will have a plethora of things to give my opinion on.

Some sad news has occurred around the world, Pakistan's former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto died Thursday as Party security adviser says she was shot in the neck and chest as she got into her vehicle. The suicide bomber/assassin then blew himself up. Twenty other people were also killed during the explosion! It's news like this that makes me feel very fortunate and really appreciate America, even with all the injustices and horrid crimes that take place. People in other countries can't even have the freedom to express their political views nor be apart of a democracy. As the primaries are slowly among us, we need to really think of the kind of leader we want for this country. In the midst of an Iraq War that hasn't ceased and a justice system riddled with controversy, it's imperative that he or she is the best candidate and not the face of either party. I hope all of you reading this will vote and realize that we are truly blessed with many freedoms.

Silly String Can Help Our Troops!

Silly String, the stuff we use to play with as kids can help our troops survive. After months of frustration, a mother of a soldier in Iraq has found a company to ship about 80,000 cans of Silly String to the troops, who use the foamy substance to detect trip wires on bombs. The product is very expensive to ship, so it's awesome to hear that Capacity L.L.C. is going to make it happen. Now the only thing that makes me a little weary is how we expose our tools. I know it's news and all, but this is a worldwide problem, so to discover that something so " silly" can help will only make for a new discovery by the terrorists. Anywho, good for the mom and definitely a plus for all.

Remember 9/11

I remember these images like it was yesterday! Today marks the sixth anniversary of the tragedy that occurred on September 11, 2001. It was 8:40 a.m. when the first plane struck one of the towers. A vigil will be held in a park a block away from Ground Zero, presidential candidate, former Mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani will attend. He has received some criticism for making an appearance at the ceremony, because some feel that he's trying to get more publicity by using the tragedy as a platform for his opinions on the War in Iraq. I personally feel that, it's his right to come there, he was the Mayor at the time! I mean seriously, the man has a heart and sorrow for the tragedy must fill his mind. It's not something that can easily be forgotten even as you move forward in life. We're reminded everyday that it's never going to be over. The reports from Patraeus that came out yesterday, the new tape from a weakened Bin Laden and constant bickering in Congress from both parties to get the troops out of Iraq! Please as you go through the day, remember those that lost their lives and ones that are still suffering from injuries and health conditions that will affect them their whole life. Please be thankful for what you have, because others aren't so fortunate!

Former Insurgents Helping the U.S. in Iraq

The U.S. government is using former insurgents for al-Qaida to help them find the enemies. People take a real close look at the picture, it's obvious that the man standing behind one of our own is out of place. The government feels that these insurgents have the know how to catch the criminals. Umm excuse me, weren't these people training to kill us? Oh I see, give them some money and tell them everything is ok, right? Well guess what, friends of Abed , both 18-year-old members who also decided to aid U.S. forces, were dragged out of their high school during final exams and beheaded. Their bodies were flung up into a tree with the severed heads displayed on the sidewalk below, according to Abed and U.S. military officers stationed in the area. Where is the decency? You mean to tell me all the high-tech intelligence we have, it has come to us using others to fight a war that shouldn't have been started in the first place. It really infuriates me, Osama is still chilling in the caves and sipping on some wine while our sons, fathers, children, mothers, brothers, sisters are dying with our blood covering their bodies. I understand why we wanted to go to war, they attacked our soil, but this is not going to end. Furthermore, it's Osama we want! We have to stop with the save the whole world crap, it's just not going to happen. You've helped Iraq establish somewhat of a democracy so let them deal with it. Of course, regulations and viable agreements should be made to keep a little peace, but this Pentagon expert plan to use insurgents is a complete disgrace and the government should be ashamed. I've never been in the service nor am I a military expert, but I'm a U.S. citizen that has a right to speak and voice my opinion and I will continue to do just that!!

Airport Security On High Alert for Terrorist Dry Runs!

Officials in Washington have put all security personnel on high alert for supposed terrorist dry runs. There were four curious seizures at four major airports ;Houston, Milwaukee, San Diego, and Baltimore. I live in Houston and I had know idea of this seizure and if they reported it, it was very brief and not repeated. In those seizures authorities recovered pipes, switches, tubes, cell phone components, and many more. The government sure knows how to play games. How come we weren't informed of this before, why does it take serious threats to make the American people aware of what's going on? They have no problem showing us coverage on the Iraq War and how many soldiers are being killed a day or the suicide bombers that attack mosques. The Taliban knows that we aren't focused on the right thing, that's why the failed test at La Guardia occurred. I mean wake up America, stop being naive! You have to demand more and stop living your life as if the U.S. government has your back, gain the knowledge, don't be in denial, and understand your right to know!! We can sleep on this one if we want to, think that the intelligence is vague and not substantial and we will have ourselves in the middle of 9/11 times two! I'm not at The Pentagon, so I can't claim to be an expert on anything, but I do remember that day and all I kept saying is, " please don't let this happen again and hunt down the muthas that did it"! Now, six years later Sadaam is dead, no "WMD" were found, and Osama is still making videotapes from his tree house! I will definitely keep you informed my fellow concerned citizens....

Woman Arrested For Kissing Painting!

A woman was arrested for suspicion of kissing a painting by Cy Twombly in France. Supposedly the woman smudged her red lipstick on the bone white canvas, which is worth 2 million dollars!! Wow, all for kissing a painting, but then again if I have a masterpiece worth 2 million, I wouldn't even unveil it!

Born in Lexington, Va., in 1928, Twombly has lived in Italy for nearly a half- century. He won the prestigious Golden Lion award at the Venice Biennale in 2001. Basically, the man is big time and French officials are not playing with this art admirer, I know this is one decision she totally regrets!

Real Punishment

You think our punishment is stiff, this 19 yr old girl is fixing to be publicly beheaded by the Saudi government, because a baby died in her care while bottle-feeding. In America, the punishment would probably be a max of 10 yrs in jail with possible probation after 5 for good behavior. What would the crime rate be if we start beheading folks for murder an chopping fingers off for stealing. We might want to give it a try, the states would be a lot safer. I know it would never happen, because we care to much about these pedophiles, rapists, killers, and how much revenue would be loss due to empty prisons.
